Which DOI to use

The book carries 2 digital object identifiers, and they do different jobs.

DOI What it resolves to When to use it
10.5281/zenodo.20221929 The book as a whole, always the latest version The default. Use this one unless a specific version matters
10.5281/zenodo.20221930 Version 0.1.0 only, deposited 16 May 2026 Reproducibility work, where the reader has to see the exact text you read

The first is the concept DOI. It keeps resolving as later versions are deposited, so a citation written today still reaches the book in 3 years.

Reading the book online

The rendered book is at https://mohammedalisharafuddin.github.io/quantitative-analysis-with-small-samples/, free and with no registration. Cite the DOI above in preference to that address, since the DOI is archived and the site is not.

Citation metadata status

The repository includes CITATION.cff, .zenodo.json, and codemeta.json to support structured citation. CITATION.cff and codemeta.json both carry the concept DOI, so GitHub’s “Cite this repository” button and any tool reading those files produce a DOI-bearing citation. .zenodo.json deliberately carries no DOI field, because that file supplies the metadata for the next deposit and a fixed identifier in it would collide with the new version DOI Zenodo mints. If the book is accepted by an institutional press or open textbook platform, replace the publisher field with the final publisher name and keep the Zenodo DOIs as the archival record.

Versioning

Citations should include the version number or release date when a specific release is used. Version 0.1.0 was deposited on 16 May 2026 under DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20221930. Later releases each receive their own version DOI, and the concept DOI above continues to resolve to the newest one.
